About Mansfield Begbie AssociatesWho are we?
Mansfield Begbie Associates were set up in 1987 and the two directors, Mike Rees and Ian Winchester, have between them over 53 years financial services and mortgage placement experience.
In April 2001, the company underwent 2 major changes in strategy and became a limited company. Following the changes to mortgage regulations and insurance regulations in November 2004 and January 2005 respectively, we decided to continue our relationship with Legal & General and become an appointed representative of Legal & General Partnership Services Limited. Over the years the company has helped support numerous local schools / charities in both Swindon and Luton, and has sponsored players, James Hook, Arwel Thomas, Shane Williams amongst others from Neath RFC, Welsh Premiership Champions for the last 4 of the last 5 seasons, via Mike's links with his local team in South Wales.

As mortgage brokers, we aim to source the most competitive deals, whether you are looking for fixed rates, capped, discounted or cash backs, preferably with flexibility and no long 'tie-in' periods at the end of the selected rate. Once you have decided to purchase a new home, one of the most important decisions is how to arrange finance for the purchase. We can help to confirm in advance, via any one of a number of mortgage lenders, exactly how much you can borrow and the costs involved. This will give you 'peace of mind', knowing that your finance can be put in place, subject to survey, before you have even found a property. There is no charge for this service. However if the application proceeds there may be a fee payable at completion for placing your mortgage. The precise amount will depend on your circumstances but we estimate it will be £300. 
Our administration is managed with the expert assistance of Jane Kilpatrick, who has been with the Company for nearly 22 years. The company covers much of the UK with clients throughout the country. We contact the majority of them every 2 years with a review to keep them up-to-date.
Mike is based in the Swindon office and also helps cover the North Devon area for the company through former estate agency contacts in Barnstaple, Bideford and Braunton. Mike is not only qualified with CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) via the I.F.S., but also has the M.A.Q. (Mortgage Advice Qualification) certificate issued by the C.I.I., as well as being a fully qualified financial adviser. Mike has been based in Swindon for 22 years and the company has been established in West Swindon since 1988. We advertise regularly in the local community magazine, 'The Link', and Mike also writes articles of financial interest in the magazine every 6-8 months.
Ian is based at the Luton office with Jane Kilpatrick, where most of the administration for the Company is carried out. Ian has been in the financial services industry for 28 years and is also qualified with CeMAP as well as being a fully qualified financial adviser. He is very aware of the need for the Company to keep pace with competitors, hence the website, and oversees the programmes that help the Company's administration run smoothly. 
Before joining Mansfield Begbie in Luton, Bill Berry worked for Halifax PLC from 1971. His first 12 years were spent in Oxford, until he was appointed as Assistant Manager in Kidderminster. Before moving to Luton in 1985 he managed a small office in Droitwich. At Luton he specialised in arrears counselling and mortgage interviewing. His move to an administration centre in Milton Keynes in May 2000 involved all aspects of assessing and processing new mortgage applications submitted by introducers. His employment with Halifax provided a substantial grounding in mortgage processing and customer care and has proved useful in his position as administrator, where he is now seeing the business from the other side of the fence.
